When the fuel injection system has problem、uses low quality fuel, after-burning is worse and exhausting temperature is higher . No matter full load or partial load, and how serious after-burning is .Its operation points are always on the normal coordinate paths.With the delay of burning end, exhaust temperature gets higher, the speed of turbocharger increases, compressor flow increases, compression ratio gets higher, operating point moves to the higher position of this curve, the surge margin is less.
The ability of cooling is worse
When the ability of air cooler is worse, exhausting temperature of diesel engine gets higher, the speed rotation of compressor increases, operating point moves to the higher position , the surge margin is less.
In a word, the factor which is not flow blocking effect will not affect the flow characteristics, it will not change the location of the turbocharger and the diesel engine on the coordinate paths, just change the location of operating points of turbocharger and the diesel engine on the coordinate,this is the secondary factor of diesel engine turbocharger surge.
Turbocharger uses exhausting with 700-900 degree which comes from the engine to drive the turbine ,then turbine shaft drives the blade in the compressor to be high speed, compressing the air in the form of centrifugal way to increase inlet air density to2-3 atmospheric pressure. Thus it can give more fuel injection to improve the engine power.
Turbocharger is composed of turbines which is driven by the exhausting, compressor which compresses the fresh air , the bearing housing which supports the bearing in the middle and the wastegate controlling . turbocharger should refer to the engine intake turbocharger, including three types: exhaust turbocharger, mechanical turbocharger and electric auxiliary turbocharger. Through compressing the air and increasing the density of air intakes to improve the engine power. Meanwhile as the improvement of the mixture fuel combustion, it can increase the combustion efficiency ,also can save fuel and reduce emissions. It’s an important technical progress of modern engines. Now the common application is turbocharger, below we will introduce some relevant knowledge about turbocharger.
