Mechanical supercharging and turbocharging have obvious difference in power outputting, the former has linear outputting like the nature intake, while the outputting the later is more abrupt and less linear because of turbo lag phenomenon.
Because of the work principle of mechanical supercharging, the supercharging can be obtained at low speed. The outputting power a certain proportion with crankshaft speed. Namely, the outputting power of mechanical supercharging engine increases by the rotational speed. So the outputting performance of mechanical supercharging engine almost same as the natural intake engine, but can get more power and torque.
Due to the characteristics of the supercharger driven by a belt, so the speed of turbocharger internal blade is fully synchronized as the rotation speed, basic characteristics as follows:
Engine RPM (R1 / R2) X = the RPM of the supercharger blade

The supercharger uses the engine speed to drive the internal organization of supercharger. Its structure is simple, working temperature is between 70 ℃ to 100 ℃, working environment is much more comfortable than the exhaust gas turbocharger’s 400℃ - 900 ℃ high temperature. So the requirement of cooling system, lubricating system for Mechanical supercharging system almost same as thr NA engine , parts maintenance procedures are the same
The engine stalled immediately is not allowed after engine worked long time with high speed. Some oil is offer lubrication and cool down for turbocharger rotor when engine is working. Working engine stalled suddenly , the oil pressure falls down to zero quickly. high temperature in the turbine transfers to middle, heat in the bearing and casing can’t go quickly meanwhile rotor is still turning with high speed as inertia. So engine stalled suddenly which is working will damage the bearing and rotor as too high temperature oil in the turbocharger. Specially to avoid to rush to refuel after stalled.
